Transport for NSW / Service NSW — New Light Vehicle Registration Process Update
Transport for NSW has updated the registration process for eligible brand-new light vehicles in NSW.
A member of the public may now attend a Service NSW Centre and apply to register an eligible brand-new light vehicle without first obtaining an AUVIS blue slip inspection report from an Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Scheme inspection station.
As outlined in Transport for NSW Form 1009, where the vehicle is new and not being registered by a DVRS motor dealer, the customer must complete the relevant customer declaration for new light vehicles and provide a copy of the vehicle’s RAV entry, together with the other required registration documents.
Accordingly, for eligible brand-new light vehicles, registration may be completed directly through Service NSW without the vehicle first being presented to an AUVIS inspection station.
This update should be noted for member awareness.
